TruLife is a non-profit organisation with a vision to train, raise & unleash this generation to live lives full of potential and purpose.
Train young people on vital subjects: self- identity, peer pressure, sex, human rights.
Raise them up to reach their full potential in these areas.
and Unleash them to do GREAT things in this city!
Self Identity. A comical look at the idea of conformity that plagues this generation, challenging individuals to embrace their own identity and to use their unique talents and abilities to add to the bigger picture
Bullying. A follow-on to our Grade 6 message, challenging young people to value the differences in others. We confront the absurdity of cyber, physical and emotional bulling; encouraging students to stop bringing others down and instead build them up.
Self Identity & Bullying; A summary of our Grade 6/7 message: dealing with identity and peer pressure, while also confronting bullying.
Sex. Looks at the flippancy of the current sex culture, and how often young people confuse sex with love. Individuals are encouraged to set a higher standard; “Abstinence, Marriage, Sex, it works every time!”
Justice. Confronts injustice in our nation & the apathy that is often expressed towards those wrongs. Individuals are encouraged that “they are the solution”.
Human Trafficking. A production bringing awareness to the reality of Human Trafficking, educating students in order to prevent them from being trafficked.
Productions: Our high energy productions use creative mediums such as dance, drama, media, music and lots of humour to engage with the audience. Each production is followed by a short, powerful talk.
Curriculum: This resource can be used by teachers in the classroom. Our high quality 4-week curriculum expands on the ideas brought across in the production. Its aim is to get the students to wrestle with the message and prods them towards a practical application of it.
Our Passion is to reach every school in the city - Private, Government and Rural. These are a few of the schools we have performed in:
Private: Michael House, Hilton College, St. Annes, Clifton, Crawford La Lucia, Thomas More
Government: Durban High school, Glenwood, Marrianridge, Overport, Linpark
And Rural: Albini, Buhlebemfundo & Sithokozile; just to name a few!
As a non-profit organisation we are not out to make finances.
But we do need to cover costs. We recommend a donation of:
